Annual Events Lessons and Carols The choir processes about the church; the readings are presented by parishioners of all ages. The community is invited to participate in this ancient Anglican ritual.
The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is celebrated on the first Sunday in October. Members and friends bring their pets and farm animals to be blessed by the Rector.
Some Saturdays in Spring and Fall are designated for parish gatherings to wash windows, tidy up the grounds and put the gardens to bed. Soup is served. Check the web calendar for your next opportunity!
This is the largest fund-raiser of the year. The fair is held at the Blue Hill Fairgrounds. Hundreds of Friends of St. Francis participate in making this an exciting event while thousands from the community attend. Admission is free and a good time is guaranteed. This year the Fair organization and proceeds benefited the Nichols Day Camps in Blue Hill.
Wonderful food provided by famous St. Francis cooks (we have already published two cookbooks) may be sampled at suppers on Twelfth Night, the Easter Week Feast, Summer Parish Picnic, All Hallows' Eve, the Harvest Supper, and any other time we can find an excuse. |
